Security has been tightened after the two actors received death threats…

Digital Desk: The people of Maharashtra state have started polling for 288 Assembly seats in today’s elections to choose the candidates from among 4136 competitors. Standard security precautions were implemented everywhere polling places are used for electoral activities, with more sensitive measures implemented in locations with compromised security.

In Bandra West, a polling station has been secured for Bollywood superstars Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan, who are likely to vote there. Security has been tightened after the two actors received death threats. Lawrence Bishnoi recently threatened Salman Khan, and the police have been on high alert to deal with the situation as well. Other threats were received from a resident of Raipur named Faizan, who later was detained by the police.

Some of the other B-Town stars who will be exercising their franchise in the Bandra West constituency are Kareena Kapoor, Ranbir Kapoor, Vidya Balan, Aamir Khan, Farhan Akhtar, and Madhuri Dixit. Some of the early voters were Akshay Kumar, Raj Kumar Rao, and Kabir Khan, who urged citizens to come out and vote.

These elections are unique for Maharashtra because the voters shape the political destiny of the state. The  Mahayuti alliance with Devendra Fadnavis fighting hard for the chair has a strong contender in the Maha Vikas Aghadi formed out of Congress, NCP, and Shiv Sena parties led by Uddhav Thackeray. The people involved in these alliances have been campaigning for them for weeks, and now the public will decide the fate of these alliances.

During the ongoing voting exercise, authorities call on people to turn out in large numbers and exercise their democratic rights efficiently to strengthen the state government.
