Upon weighing, the total net weight of the seized suspected Ganja came to 9.921 Kgs.

Digital Desk: Today, around 8:45 AM, the Garchuk Police conducted an operation after receiving information  from a reliable source about a person from  Tamulpur area  transporting cannabis (ganja) to sell in the Lokhra Chariali, Guwahati. 

A Police team from Garchuk Police Station, led by the ACP of Azara Division, with SI(P) Pranab Jyoti Bhattacharya and more members, formed  checking points, opposite of  DTO Office Betkuchi.

During the operation, police officials intercepted a scooty bearing license plate AS-25-X-7533. The incident occurred when Kamal Boro (35 years), son of Jonga Boro, and a resident of Kanchai Gaon, under Jalukbari Police Station in Kamrup (M) district, Assam, was apprehended.

The police investigation resulted in the discovery of two suspected bags filled with cannabis (ganja) during the search operation. Police examined the seized contraband, which amounted to 9.921kg.

A case has been registered against relevant sections of the law after the seizure and legal procedures started. The authorities currently conduct investigations to trace the origin of the illegal drugs along with their planned distribution pathways.

Following the seizure, legal proceedings were initiated, and a case was registered under the relevant sections of the law. Further investigation is underway to determine the source and intended distribution network of the contraband.
