Digital Desk: In a shocking incident, a man allegedly killed his wife and sent pictures of her dead body to relatives before hanging himself in Uttar Pradesh’s Ghaziabad on Friday, police said.
The accused, identified as 30-year-old Shyam Goswami, strangled his wife, Priya, 28 to death. He then spent hours beside her body before hanging himself at around 1:00 pm. According to Vivek Chandra Yadav, Deputy Commissioner of Police (rural), he also took several photos and forwarded them to his family members. According to police, Goswami suspected his wife of adultery.
"Praveen, Goswami's younger brother, reached his house and discovered the bodies after seeing the photos on WhatsApp," the officer added.
For the previous three years, the couple had resided in Ankur Vihar Loni's Shankar Vihar community. Goswami used to sell car accessories, while Priya, his wife, worked at a private company.
According to authorities, the couple's six-year-old daughter lives in the Etah district with her grandparents.
The DCP further added, “Prima facie, it appears that Goswami suspected his wife of adultery. The bodies have been sent for postmortem and the matter is being investigated,” the DCP said.
