Sisodia's wife's health worsened, though, and she was admitted to the hospital before he could see her at their home, according to reports.

Digital Desk: A Delhi court granted former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia permission to visit his ailing wife from 10 am to 4 pm. Sisodia is being held at Tihar Jail in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

On November 9, Sisodia filed an application with the Delhi court located at Rouse Avenue, asking to be allowed to spend five days with his sick wife while he was in custody.

Sisodia, who supposedly has multiple sclerosis, had previously asked for permission to meet his wife. A Delhi High Court order had already permitted him to see her on June 3.

Sisodia's wife's health worsened, though, and she was admitted to the hospital before he could see her at their home, according to reports.

Seen as a participant in the Delhi excise policy "scam," Sisodia was initially taken into prison by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on February 26. March 9 in the same case, he was taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

According to the Enforcement Department, Manish Sisodia's actions are to blame for the creation of around ₹622 crore in illicit earnings.

Charge papers have been submitted in both instances against Sisodia and other defendants.

The Supreme Court of India has rejected Sisodia's request for bail division. Both the trial court and the high court denied his previous bail requests.

In the Delhi Excise policy case, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh has also been taken into custody. He is being held by the authorities and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi, was also summoned by the ED to be questioned about the issue. However, he skipped the summons, stating that the case was "vague, motivated, and unsustainable in law."
