During the candlelight vigil held at the university's entrance, USTM students joined the villagers from Killing and Baridua as well as the KSU Northern Border Area to lament the deaths.

Digital Desk: Under the direction of their President Calvin Thongni, the Khasi Students' Union Regional Institute of Science and Technology-University of Science and Technology (KSU RIST-USTM) Unit held a candlelight vigil and raised black flags on November 23 to express their support and grievances to the families of the five civilians who were killed in the West Jaintia Hills Mukroh shooting on November 22.



Students from USTM joined the villagers from Killing and Baridua as well as the KSU Northern Border Area during the candlelight memorial held at the university's entrance to mourn the losses.



The unit's president condemned the Assam police for their senseless shooting at the gathering. He also criticized the state administration for its failure to quickly resolve border disputes and for using border residents as "sacrificial lambs."
