“This is all I need, a real-life Badhai Ho,”
Digital Desk: The Veteran actress Neena Gupta has dismissed pregnancy rumours that surfaced on social media following her appearance at the wedding reception of Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda in Hyderabad.
Photos and videos from the event showed Gupta looking radiant in an ivory outfit designed by her daughter, Masaba Gupta. However, a noticeable bump in her outfit sparked speculation online about a possible pregnancy.
Responding to the rumours, Gupta laughed off the claims. “This is all I need, a real-life Badhai Ho,” she joked, referring to her role in the hit film Badhaai Ho, where she portrayed a woman who becomes pregnant in her 60s.
Clarifying the situation, the actress said she is not pregnant and explained that the thick material of her saree made her appear bulky at the reception. “There is no Badhai Ho. I am not pregnant. The saree fabric was thick, which made me look that way,” she said.
Gupta also took the speculation in good humour, adding that such discussions show changing attitudes in society. Known for breaking stereotypes and ignoring trolls who attempt to body-shame or age-shame her, the veteran actor once again handled the situation with her trademark wit and confidence.
