Digital Desk: A tragedy occurred in New Orleans, where ten people died and thirty-one  were injured when an SUV struck a crowd during New Year’s events. The tragic event unfolded near the intersection of Bourbon Street and Iberville in the French Quarter at around 3:15 a.m. through the reports of NOLA Ready, which is the agency that promotes preparedness for emergencies in New Orleans.

 
The driver of the vehicle was said to have alighted from the car with intent to shoot and indeed fired at the people. Police fired back and thus the tension started rising. The witnesses’ spoke of how the SUV plowed through the crowded street before the shooting happened.

 

Bourbon Street, the famous street that is supposed to serve as a tourist delight as
well as party destination too,was packed with thousands of people for New Year celebration. Police have advised residents to refrain from approaching the area as police conduct their investigations.

 
The heinous activity disrupted the celebration mood within the communities and states thereby leaving many people, residents as well as visitors, in shock.
