Two women are seen being paraded naked by a mob in the viral footage, which is reported to be two months old. 

Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 20 broke his silence on Manipur after a video of two women being paraded by a mob in Manipur surfaced on July 19.

The chief ministers of all states were urged by the prime minister to seriously consider their security preparedness and to ensure the safety and protection of the women and children living in their states. 

The Prime Minister promised to punish those responsible for the heinous assault on the women in Manipur.

"It is a dark and abhorrent crime that has no place in our society. Prior to the Monsoon session, PM Modi declared that those responsible for this heinous act will not be spared.

"No guilty person will be spared. The legal system will work hard to complete its course. The event that involved the daughters of Manipur "can never be forgiven," PM Modi said. 

Two women are seen being paraded naked by a mob in the viral footage, which is reported to be two months old. According to reports, the women were allegedly gang-raped before the mob displayed them naked. The incident reportedly occurred on May 4, 2023, according to reports.
