Releasing a poster of the wanted accused, the Pune City Police urged the public to provide information about Ramdas.

Digital Desk: The Pune Police announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for the people who would give information about the recent rape case accused Dattatray Ramdas Gade, who allegedly raped a woman inside a Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) bus at the Swargate bus depot, Pune on February 25.

Ramdas, a resident of Gunat village in Shirur taluka, had various criminal charges of robbery, theft, and chain-snatching against him.  

Releasing a poster of the wanted accused, the Pune City Police urged the public to provide information about Ramdas.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the victim, a 26-year-old working woman, was waiting for a bus to go to Phaltan. During that time, the accused approached her claiming that the bus was parked in a different place. The woman followed him to a MSRTC bus where he sexually assaulted her.  

Police deployed sniffer dogs and drones to find the accused, who may be hiding in a sugarcane field near his hometown. 

After committing the crime, Ramdas fled to his hometown, hiding in a truck carrying vegetables. He changed his clothes and shoes after reaching his place.

As per reports, the Police had set up 13 special teams to apprehend the accused.
