Digital Desk: Leader of Congress, Rahul Gandhi, and other Congressmen were detained by Delhi Police on Tuesday after they protested against Sonia Gandhi, the party's leader, being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate about the National Herald issue. Today marks the second time that Sonia Gandhi has been questioned; the previous time was on July 21. She is recovering from COVID-19.

Rahul is encircled by the cops and the journalists in a video that the news organization ANI posted. Rahul criticized the administration for forbidding him to sit at Vijay Chowk when staging the dharna earlier today.  “They (Police) are not allowing us to sit at Vijay Chowk. This is the reality of India that it is a Police state, it is the truth...Modiji (PM Modi) is a 'raja' (king),” he was quoted as telling ANI.

While the MPs marched to Rashtrapati Bhavan, Rahul Gandhi and other officials of the Congress party were held at Vijay Chowk. Rahul Gandhi was detained during the protest march and then transported to Parliament Street police station.

Congress lawmakers are protesting across the country over what they allege is the abuse of government investigation agencies against opposition figures. Following their protest march from Parliament, a number of the party's MPs were taken into custody by the police.

At Vijay Chowk, all Congress MPs were halted and barred from proceeding to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
