The Uttarakhand government faced criticism for granting licenses to Patanjali products, with Justice Amanullah...

Digital Desk: The Supreme Court issued a scathing admonishment towards Baba Ramdev during a contempt case hearing involving Patanjali Ayurved's misleading advertisements for its medicinal products.

Justices Hima Kohli and Ahsanuddin Amanullah, forming the two-judge bench, expressed disapproval of Ramdev's perceived lack of innocence and highlighted his "irresponsible behavior."

The court set the next hearing for April 23, granting Ramdev and Acharya Balkrishna one week to issue a public apology.

Despite Ramdev offering an "unconditional apology for the mistakes we made," the bench underscored that "law is equal for everyone" and scrutinized their advertising practices concerning incurable diseases.

The court will deliberate on whether to accept the apology. Earlier, on April 10, the Supreme Court dismissed Ramdev and Balkrishna's apology, citing "willful, deliberate, and repeated violations" of court orders.

Meanwhile, the Indian Medical Association (IMA) filed a petition against Patanjali Ayurveda.

Additionally, the Uttarakhand government faced criticism for granting licenses to Patanjali products, with Justice Amanullah issuing a stern warning.
