Digital Desk: In a shameful incident, a Bihu group from Sivasagar, including a female dancer was allegedly assaulted by a local resident of Jorhat. The incident occurred in Pulibor of Jorhat on Saturday, April 19.
As per report, the Dikhouporia Bihu group was invited by a Pulibor resident for a cultural performance in his residence.
However, the man allegedly hurled abuse, leading to physical violence.
The group, including a female Bihu dancer, was injured due to the physical altercation.
The Bihu group filed an FIR at the ISBT Police outpost regarding the incident. Police registered the complaint and started investigating the matter.
The heartbreaking incident has raised concerns and widespread uproar as such incidents of disregard and negligence have been increasing in the state.
People have also raised concerns for the Bihu artists' safety during performances.
