Digital Desk: Prime Minister Narendra Modi celebrated India's victory over Pakistan in the World Cup 2023 match on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. He praised the Indian team's "all-around excellence" and sent his best wishes for the remaining games of the ICC World Cup.

"Team India all the way! A great win today in Ahmedabad, powered by all-round excellence. Congratulations to the team and best wishes for the matches ahead," PM Modi posted on X.



With today's victory, Team India has an 8-0 record over Pakistan in ODI World Cup matches. Pakistan was previously defeated by India in 1992, 1996, 1999, 2003, 2011, 2015, and 2019.

India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets in their third game of the ICC World Cup 2023 on Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad owing to a dominating performance with the ball and the bat.

India, which was chasing a paltry 192 to win, sped up to the goal thanks to half-centuries from captain Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer at the largest cricket stadium in the world.

India won the match for the third time in a row thanks in large part to Rohit, who top-scored with 86 off 63 balls and Iyer, who remained undefeated on xx. With this victory, the Men in Blue improved to 8-0 all-time against Pakistan in ODI World Cup matches.
