Digital Desk: A tragic incident has left the town of Silchar in shock as a teenager went missing while bathing in the Barak River, causing widespread concern among residents.


The unfortunate event took place on Thursday afternoon when 14-year-old Sayan Das, along with his group of friends, ventured to Annapurna Ghat near the new bridge in Silchar for a swim.


During the outing, Sayan reportedly slipped into deep waters and disappeared.


Sayan Das is the son of Swapan Das and the family resides in the Swamiji Road area of Silchar.


The incident has plunged the family into distress and the community into worry.


Upon receiving information about the incident, local residents immediately informed the Malugram Police Station and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) team.


SDRF personnel, along with local fishermen, are continuing rescue operations in an effort to locate the missing boy.
