Digital Desk: An alleged case of abduction has sparked tension in Parbatipur No. 10 village under the jurisdiction of Phillobari Police Station in Tinsukia district.


According to the complaint, a youth identified as Sheikh Shakil Siddiqui from Kakojan No. 4 village, allegedly befriended a local girl by using Hindu name 'Samir' and misrepresenting his religious identity.


It is further alleged that he took the girl away on Wednesday.


The girl's family has since lodged an FIR at the Phillobari Police Station, charging Siddiqui with abduction.


The accused is the son of Sheikh Abbas Khan, who is reportedly residing in Bihar.


The incident has led to significant unrest in the locality.  


On Thursday, the girl's family members and local residents visited the suspect's house to demand answers.


To maintain order and oversee the case, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of Doomdooma reached the spot and has officially initiated an investigation into the matter.
