Digital Desk: On 4 December 2024, a mother died while her minor child was seriously injured, which occurred in a stampede in front of Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad, on the occasion of the launching of Pushpa 2. Chaos broke out at the venue when Allu Arjun, the lead actor, showed up unexpectedly, resulting in a great fan rush around him to get a glance of him.
Revathi, 39, of Dilsukhnagar, was with her husband Bhaskar and their two little kids at the event. When the entire audience broke into a stampede, she fell into the crowd with her child Sri Tej, aged 9. Both succumbed to injuries in the chaos and were transferred to nearby hospitals, while Revathi was declared dead on arrival at Durga Bhai Deshmukh Hospital. After suffering severe injuries, Sri Tej was sent to KIMS Hospital, where his condition remains critical.
At around 10:30 p.m., the stampede broke out as the police could not control the huge crowd. Allu Arjun, under high security after the screening, greeted his fans for a moment and asked them to give way for cars so he could leave the venue.
The officials are still investigating this tragic incident, and people are praying for the speedy recovery of the young child and mourning over the unfortunate loss.
