Born to an American Samoan father and a mother who later embraced Hinduism, Gabbard made history by swearing in on the Bhagavad Gita…

Digital Desk: Gabbard was an officer in the U.S. Army National Guard for more than twenty years and had actual combat experience in Iraq and Kuwait. She was first elected to the U.S. Congress in November 2012, making her the first Hindu to win a seat in Congress, though her victory in Hawaii’s 2nd Congressional District occurred during the 113th Congress in 2013; she has been a Democrat. She is quite renowned for her confrontational tone and her commitment to the country’s security arrangements, and she was occupying the position of the employee of the House Committee on Homeland Security as well as the deputy chairperson, where she addressed issues significantly important for defense and policymaking.

Born to an American Samoan father and a mother who later embraced Hinduism, Gabbard made history by swearing in on the Bhagavad Gita. Her decisions on most international issues were sometimes colored by her unique background and her military experience. She interrogated Kamala Harris and other party leaders during her bid for the Democratic presidential nomination in the 2020 elections about the foreign policy she envisioned that would do away with militarism and imperialism while serving the needs of the ordinary American.

Despite this, Gabbard became disillusioned with the Democratic Party direction, leaving it in 2022 to join the Republican Party. This shift received attention when the incumbent president, at the time, Donald Trump, nominated her to be the Director of National Intelligence, although she was inexperienced in intelligence affairs. Trump congratulated Gabbard for being a proud Republican with a fearless spirit and for defending constitutional amendments at the same time as focusing on the security of the country. Gabbard, is a woman who has devoted herself to military, political, and cultural values, and has never left the United States security policy even after shifting into the intelligence community.
