Digital Desk: The Dispur police arrested two youths from Assam and a Bangladeshi woman for allegedly producing pornographic content at a luxury hotel in the supermarket area of Guwahati on Monday. The arrested were identified as Shafikul and Jahangir of Assam, while Meen Akhtar was a Bangladeshi national. Three of them are now in police custody.
According to the police, the arrested persons booked a hotel in the supermarket area and were planning to produce pornographic videos. Reports suggested that the 22-year-old Bangladeshi woman entered India without a valid passport or visa.
Police investigations are underway regarding the incident. The Guwahati Police is also investigating any links to different criminal networks involved in such illegal activities.
According to the Guwahati police, Meen Akhtar revealed that she was brought to India with the false promise of employment.
She has been sent for a medical examination, while the two youths are being interrogated by Hatigaon police in connection with larger criminal networks.
