The civil aviation ministry and airports authority of india launched an affordable food outlet at the departure area to make air travel more enjoyable…

Digital Desk:  Say goodbye to overpriced food at airports. You can now end your airport meal expenses when prices exceed their value since 'Udaan Yatri Cafe' provides reasonable pricing. The Indian government has introduced the 'Udaan Yatri Cafe' project through a pilot experiment at Kolkata’s Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport to respond to airport meal price complaints. The  cafes provides vital beverages such as tea alongside coffee and snacks and water for reasonable costs that challenge typical airport pricing structures. Airport customers can now enjoy tea for Rs 10 along with samosas for Rs 20 when both items were practically unobtainable at previous airport prices.

The Udaan Yatri Cafe initiative started when Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha presented airport pricing issues to Parliament regarding water expenses reaching Rs 100 alongside tea costing Rs 200-250. Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha's activities have resulted in establishing an amenities hub that enables air passengers to purchase affordable dining options to satisfy their years of airport dissatisfaction.

The Udaan Yatri Cafe which started service on December 21 succeeded in its first month by serving 27,000 passengers. The successful implementation will open the gateway for Udaan Yatri Cafe to extend its presence across different Airports Authority of India (AAI)-operated airports which will provide affordable travel options to everyone.
