Digital Desk: According to reports, a man in Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh slit his wife's throat and killed her over family disputes on Wednesday.
The culprit, who was identified as Raqeeb, left the crime scene with his family following the crime.

The event took place in Sadar Bazaar's Shantipuram Colony.

After 13 years of marriage, Raqeeb and his wife Khalida were still frequently in conflict.

For the past month, Khalida had been residing with her parents. But on Wednesday, Raqeeb called her over to his residence, when they got into a heated dispute that eventually became violent.

Then, using a sharp object, Raqeeb cut his wife's throat, instantly murdering her.

The police rushed to the spot after learning of the incident and sent Khalida's body for a postmortem. Additionally, the police started looking for the fugitive Raqeeb.

According to the police, Khalida's parents had also arrived at the scene, and additional inquiries into the incident were being conducted.

Raqeeb allegedly tried to set Khalida ablaze eight years ago, according to Khalida's brother Shahnavaz. The accused's parents were also involved in the couple's arguments, he said.
