The TV caster apologised and explained the circumstances a day after the footage became popular on social media...

Digital Desk: On Wednesday, a video of a BBC news anchor flashing the middle finger at the camera during a live broadcast went viral on social media. While the video made the internet giggle, it also raised some eyebrows about the media organization's professionalism.

The viral video shows news host Maryam Moshiri, the chief presenter of the British network, raising her middle finger as she prepares to broadcast the news on TV.

Moshiri was spotted holding her finger towards the camera as the BBC switched on the studio for the noontime news, with her head raised and a silly smile on her face. Moshiri, on the other hand, went to a classic news anchor self and stated, "Live from London, this is BBC News," as soon as she knew the camera was on.
