When security guards arrived at Rai's Kishanganj house, they discovered that he had been keeping money that had allegedly been given to him as a kickback in the offices of a junior engineer and cashier.

Digital Desk: More than Rs 4 crore in cash has been recovered after raids conducted at the residences of three Bihar government employees by the Vigilance Investigation Bureau.

Multiple locations in Patna and Kishanganj, Bihar, connected to Sanjay Kumar Rai, an executive engineer in the Kishanganj division of the public works department, were raided concurrently by teams of VIB inspectors.

When security guards arrived at Rai's Kishanganj house, they discovered that he had been keeping money that had allegedly been given to him as a kickback in the offices of a junior engineer and cashier. Teams then conducted raids on Rai's subordinates.

Over Rs 3 crore in cash was found during searches of the cashier's Kishanganj business. Around Rs 1 crore in cash was also found in Sanjay Kumar Rai's Patna home at the same time.

At the moment, the raids are going on, and cash-counting machines have been brought in.
