Digital Desk: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh said that the BrahMos missile is not designed to strike other countries but to allow India to discourage hostile forces from casting evil eyes on our country.
While addressing a gathering after laying the foundation stone of BrahMos Aerospace cruise missile manufacturing unit in Lucknow, Rajnath Singh said, "We are making the BrahMos missile not to attack other nations but to ensure that no other country cast their evil eye to attack India."
"Until now, we didn't infringe any country nor intend to do it, but if time demands in the future, we will not step back." added Rajnath Singh.
Further, attacking Pakistan, he said, "A neighbouring country of India always executed terrorists attack against the country. However, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we have given them a tough response by killing the terrorists in their own territory that planned the attack. Through it, they had got a clear message that India could go inside their boundary and attack them if they provoked India."

Notably, in response to terror attacks in Uri and Pulwama, India carried out cross-border strikes in September 2016 and February 2019.
BrahMos is a joint venture between India's Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and Russia's NPOM to develop next-generation supersonic missiles for the Indian military.
The name 'BrahMos' has been obtained from India's Brahmaputra River and Russia's Moskva River.
According to an official report, the BrahMos project will likely create 5,500 fresh job opportunities, with an additional 10,000 jobs by the auxiliary supply chain.
Already, the BrahMos sophisticated weapon system has been incorporated into the three branches of the Indian Defence forces, namely the Army, Air Force, and Navy.
