Digital Desk: Separate operations in West Bengal saw the Border Security Force (BSF) apprehend up to 45 persons for attempting to illegally enter the international boundary. 

According to the BSF, those apprehended included 32 Bangladeshis who attempted to cross the border into India and 13 Indians who attempted to enter the adjacent nation illegally. 

Singamora border station personnel captured 20 Bangladeshi women, four children, and four males. Six Indian ladies, three children, and a man were also detained. The arrests were made in three different operations on Wednesday, according to the report.

The arrested Indians are from Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and West Bengal, while the arrested Bangladeshis are from Bagairhat, Barisal, Ferozepur, Khulna, Jessore, Ghazipur, and Gopalganj.

Troops from the Ranghat border outpost apprehended three Bangladeshi women and a man in another operation. They also held two Indian males and a woman.





During interrogation, the Bangladeshi nationals confessed that they were travelling to India to make a better livelihood, while the captured Indians stated that they were heading to Bangladesh to see family, according to the BSF.

According to the report, the apprehended individuals were turned over to the Bagdah police station. 

A BSF spokeswoman stated that strong measures are being taken to stop unlawful migration at the international boundary.
