Digital Desk: Amid escalating man-elephant conflict, a 62-year-old woman tragically lost her life in a wild elephant attack in the Doarizer village, situated near the Indo-Bhutan border in Assam's Tamulpur district. The deceased was identified as Taramani Barman. She was sleeping at her mud house when the elephant broke down the walls and killed her.

The villagers said that Taramani Barman's husband Punil Barman also lost his life due to a similar attack almost nine years ago.

A few days before, a woman was critically injured after a wild elephant damaged her house and attacked her in the Harinchra village of Tamulpur. The woman is undergoing treatment at a hospital.

The heart-wrenching outcome of the ongoing man-elephant conflict in Assam has created panic among people. The villagers urged the related authorities to take immediate action to mitigate the situation.
