Digital Desk: A heartbreaking incident has emerged from Khowang, Moran, where online gaming has tragically claimed the life of a young student.

The tragedy unfolded in Bahoni Pathar village, leaving the entire community in profound shock and sorrow.

Utpal Gogoi, a promising student who had recently appeared for his matriculation exams, fell victim to the overwhelming pressures of his addiction to online gaming.

Hailing from a humble family, Utpal was known for his academic excellence.

His parents, despite facing financial hardships, had purchased a mobile phone to aid his studies.

Unaware of the looming danger, Utpal became deeply engrossed in online gaming, leading to dire consequences.

He misused his parents' hard-earned savings, withdrawing significant amounts from their bank account to fuel his gaming addiction.

Even after being counselled following two instances of depleting the family's bank account, Utpal continued his troubling behaviour.

Recently, he even exhausted Rs 9,000 from his mother's Arunodoi Scheme funds.

Overwhelmed by guilt and unable to face his parents, Utpal left behind a suicide note and took his own life at home.

This incident has cast a shadow of grief over the entire village, as the community mourns the untimely demise of a promising young life.
