    Alia's Gangubai Kathiawadi postponed, to hit theatres on February 25
    Digital Desk: Alia Bhatt's Gangubai Kathiawadi has been postponed once again, and a news release date has been set for the movie. This movie, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, was supposed to hit theatres a week earlier (February 18) than the new release date.

    Bhansaliproductions announced through social media handle that the movie Gangubai Kathiawadi will be released on February 25, 2022. 

    The movie was earlier postponed due to the surge of the Covid-19 all across the globe. Now, as reports have started showing a downfall in the third wave of positivity rate, movie makers have finally set a new release date for the film.

    Bollywood diva Alia Bhatt shared the announcement on Twitter. "#GangubaiKathiawadi will rise to power in cinemas near you on February 25, 2022," she wrote.

    Gangubai Kathiawadi is adopted from one of Hussain Zaidi's books Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The movie highlights Alia Bhatt in the lead role. Alia will be seen playing the role of Gangubai in her most fierce personality, the most powerful, loved and admired madams from Mumbai's red-light area Kamathipura during the 1960s.

    Apart from Alia, the movie also cast celebrities like Ajay Devgn and Shantanu Maheshwari. 

    The upcoming movie recounts the tale of a woman named Ganga, played by Alia, who evolves as a madame in the red light area of Kamathipura. The narrative reveals how she grew to authority, battling one challenge after another.

    Next month, the film will have its world premiere at the 72nd Berlin International Film Festival.
