Digital Desk: A formal complaint has been filed to Mumbai
police demanding the registration of an FIR in connection with the saffron
outfits worn by actor Deepika Padukone in the song 'Besharam Rang' in the
upcoming Shah Rukh Khan-starrer 'Pathaan', an official said on Monday.
The complaint was filed on Saturday against the film's
producer, director, and lead cast for allegedly hurting people's religious
sensibilities and "deliberate" usage of the colour saffron to
disrespect the Hindu faith, according to a Sakinaka police station official.
According to the official, an activist filed a complaint alleging that the song promotes vulgarity among adolescents and could undermine law and order in society. The song has sparked demonstrations from
some right-wing organizations, with effigies of Khan and others set on fire in
Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and elsewhere.
