Chasing the target, RCB’s innings saw some notable performances
Digital Desk: At the 2025 IPL final in Ahmedabad, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) scored 190/9 against Punjab Kings (PBKS). In their opening pair, Punjab Kings got 43 runs from Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh in the starting five overs. Priyansh Arya was trapped lbw by Josh Hazlewood, who was caught superbly by Phil Salt in the deep.
When going after the target, RCB put in some excellent performances. Virat Kohli scored the most runs for RCB with 43, but PBKS were impressive with Kyle Jamieson and Arshdeep Singh each taking three wickets. When they were halfway through, RCB had got to 87/2 and Kohli was only able to hit one boundary. Punjab Kings bowlers kept the opposition guessing by giving them different types of deliveries.
When Mayank Agarwal was bowled, the team’s progress was slowed, but battler Patidar stepped up and hit a six off Chahal. In the first six overs, RCB scored 59/1. Against Ravichandran, Agarwal play aggressively, mistimed his shot but still hit the ball for a boundary.
Punjab Kings started well with 52/1, but lost Priyansh Arya (24 runs) due to a tricky wicket by Josh Hazlewood and a catch by Phil Salt. With 190/9 against RCB, Punjab Kings will have to try harder to win the IPL 2025 title in Ahmedabad.
