Digital Desk: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar, has opposed Richa Chadha's Galwan tweet. He uploaded a screenshot of Richa's contentious tweet and stated that seeing it upsets him.

Akshay Kumar posted on Twitter that, “Hurts to see this. Nothing ever should make us ungrateful towards our armed forces. Woh hain toh aaj hum hain (We exist because of them).”

Richa Chadha responded on Wednesday to Northern Army Commander Lt General Upendra Dwivedi's assertion that the Indian Army is ready to carry out any instructions to retake Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Lt General Dwivedi's remarks referred to the Defence Minister's recent address, in which he repeated New Delhi's determination to reclaim Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK), stating that all refugees will be given their land and homes back.

Lieutenant General Dwivedi stated, "In terms of the Indian Army, it will carry out any order issued by the Government of India. We shall always be prepared if such directives are issued." Richa turned to Twitter to share the comment, writing, "Galwan says hi."

As soon as she posted this, social media erupted, with individuals accusing her of disrespecting the army by mentioning the 2020 battle between India and China. Manjinder Singh Sirsa, the head of the Bharatiya Janata Party, has slammed Bollywood actress Richa Chadha and requested that a criminal complaint be filed against her over her reaction to the Indian Army's announcement.

Richa posted an apologetic message over Twitter on Thursday. Richa stated, "Even though it was never my intention to offend or hurt anyone with the three words that have sparked a controversy, I apologise and say that it would sadden me if my words, even if unintentionally, triggered this feeling in my brothers in the Fauj, of which my own Nanaji has been an illustrious member. In the 1960s, as a Lieutenant Colonel, he was shot in the leg during the Indo-China conflict. My grandfather was a paratrooper. It runs in my family."

As asserted by ANI reports, Richa said, "When a son is slain or even injured while rescuing a nation made up of people like us, an entire family is devastated, and I know how it feels. It's a sensitive subject for me."
