    Assam Minister Visits Residence of Pony Operator Killed in Pahalgam, Hands Over Rs 5 Lakh Aid to Family
    Earlier, the Assam government announced one-time financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of all 26 people killed in the deadly terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.  

    Digital Desk: Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora on Sunday visited Pahalgam terror attack victim Syed Adil Hussain Shah's residence and handed over a letter from Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma and a cheque of Rs 5 lakh from the Assam government to his family.

    Earlier, the Assam government announced one-time financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh to the families of all 26 people killed in the deadly terrorist attack in the Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir on April 22.  

    Minister Bora's visit to Pahalgam came after the Assam Cabinet approved immediate relief measures for the victims of the terrorist attack.

    Syed Adil Hussain Shah, a local pony operator by profession and sole breadwinner of his family, was killed by the terrorists during his attempt to shield a tourist he had taken up for the trail earlier.

    The 32-year-old pony operator is survived by aging parents, wife, and children.

    After the incident, Shah's family was shattered by the emotional loss as well as the financial uncertainty.
