Digital Desk: Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri recently bought an apartment worth Rs 17.92 crore.

Reportedly, the director and his wife, actress Pallavi Joshi, bought the flat together. The flat is located in the posh Versova neighbourhood of Mumbai’s upscale suburb Andheri. The beautiful apartment is located on the 30th floor of the building and is 3,258 square feet in area. It has three parking spaces. According to reports, the apartment is worth not less than Rs 55,000 per square foot.

The couple is believed to have paid a stamp duty of Rs 1.07 crore to register the deal.

Agnihotri is best known for his political drama "The Kashmir Files," which will be released in 2022. The movie explores the native Kashmiri Pandits' exodus from the Kashmir Valley in the 1990s. The movie was widely criticized when it was released in theatres in March 2022. It received criticism for its unfair representation of Kashmiri Muslims and for escalating tensions within communities of Muslims and Hindus. Despite the tremendous criticism, the picture finally went on to become one of the year's highest-grossing films. It grossed more than Rs 340.92 crores despite being made on a low budget of Rs 15-20 crores. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar, Pallavi Joshi, and other well-known actors were part of the ensemble cast for the movie.

The director is currently working on his next movie, a political drama. The film, titled "The Delhi Files," is said to be based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots. This will be the final installment of the "Files" trilogy (the first being "The Tashkent Files"). The director of "Hate Story" revealed his strategy in an interview, saying, 'The Delhi Files' will signify the end of the "Files" trilogy. No amount of money will ever persuade me to make the 'Files' into a franchise. It was always supposed to be a trilogy. That's how I've imagined it from the beginning. "I am not going to think, 'The audience is addicted to the franchise, let's do one more," he said.
