At least 11 labourers, who worked in an under-construction government building, were killed on the spot while two were critically injured, and three went missing.

Digital Desk: In the unrest-ridden North Waziristan tribal division of Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, which borders Afghanistan, at least 11 labourers were killed and two others were hurt in a terrorist attack on Sunday, according to authorities.

Rehan Gul Khattak, the deputy commissioner of North Waziristan, reported that late Saturday night, terrorists detonated explosives close to Gul Mir Kot in Shawal tehsil, blowing up a van carrying 16 employees.

According to Khattak, 11 construction workers who were employed by a government building that was still being built perished immediately, two had critical injuries, and three went missing.

According to officials, the dead were from the South Waziristan tribal district's tehsils Makin and Wana. Their bodies were moved to a neighbouring hospital after they sustained injuries.

He added there were still efforts being made to identify and find the missing employees.

The incident, which resulted in the deaths of innocent workers, was denounced by acting Prime Minister Anwaar ul Haq Kakar.
