Digital Desk: In an ongoing war against drugs, four narcotics peddlers were detained by the police at Batadrava in the Nagaon district of Assam on Sunday, officials informed.

According to the officials, an operation was conducted at Silpukhuri in Batadrava based on specific intelligence, and when a team of officials arrived there, they found the gang red-handed dealing in drugs.

A married couple is among those who have been held, stated officials. The husband was identified as Khairul Islam, but her identity was not immediately known.

According to the officials, the couple had many drug-related offenses against their names, and complaints against them had been coming in for a long time.

During the course of the operation, police were able to seize two mobile phones, as well as up to 13 containers containing what they believed to be drugs, from the suspects.

The seized substances were sent for testing to a lab to determine what kind of item they were dealing in, as officials further mentioned.
