Guwahati: An Air India flight from Assam's Silchar made an emergency landing on Wednesday. The emergency landing was made after one of its landing gears failed.
As per sources, the aircraft was made to land soon after its take-off. There was a problem with one of its back wheels.
Kumbhgram Airport was the scene of the event. The plane, an Airbus A319, was flying to Kolkata with more than 100 travelers on board.
The Airbus A319 is a commercial passenger twin-engine jet aircraft. This aircraft can carry 124 to 156 passengers in short to medium range.

PK Gorai, the airport director, stated the pilot identified the glitch along with a hydraulic leak.
"...the pilot...landed the plane back at the Silchar airport. A full emergency was announced at the airport, and the flight further experienced a problem in landing due to gear failure."
Gorai added that they were trying to find out what went wrong. "This is a huge plane, and we have only one runway at our airport, which is presently blocked. So if this Air India flight does not operate, we have to cancel other flights for now."
Previously, an airport official stated that a Delhi-bound Vistara flight was redirected to Devi Ahilyabai Holkar International Airport in Madhya Pradesh's Indore on October 22. It was reverted after a passenger complained of breathlessness and fainted less than an hour in the air.
