New Delhi: A delivery boy of online food platform 'Swiggy' shot death a restaurant owner over the delay in his food order in Greater Noida.

The deceased owner Sunil Agarwal owns a restaurant inside a residential complex called Mitra.
Reportedly, the incident took place when the delivery boy reached the restaurant to take the food Items-Chicken Biriyani and Poori Sabzi.

When the restaurant staff told him that one item was still being prepared and it would take some time, the delivery boy started arguing, resulting in a fight between the two.

As Agarwal tried to mediate, the delivery boy shot him in the head and fled from the spot, the report said.

The restaurant owner was rushed to the hospital, but he has declared brought dead by the doctors.

Rakesh Nagar, who lives near the restaurant, asserted, “The restaurant staff informed me that a delivery boy shot Sunil. When I reached the spot, he was still breathing. First, I dialed 100 and then for an ambulance. After not getting any of it, we took him to hospital in our private vehicle.”

Police official said, “As the restaurant delayed the order, the delivery boy shot the owner, Sunil Agarwal.”

“We have formed three teams to track the culprit,” added the police.

Moreover, Swiggy, in a statement, said, “We have connected with the concerned authority to help verify the identity of the individual who is involved in this crime, and if he is found guilty, he should be punished under the law.”
