The accused has been given bail in the interim. "Bail has been granted for the defendants. He has received notice and has been granted bail" Nagaon SP, Leena Doley said.

Digital Desk: The man who was arrested for holding a protest while dressed as Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on the street in Assam's Nagaon district has been granted bail.

The Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad chapters in the Nagaon district strongly condemned the act, alleging that it had harmed the emotions of Hindu Sanatan Dharma.

The accused has been given bail in the interim. "Bail has been granted for the defendants. He has received notice and has been granted bail" Nagaon SP, Leena Doley said.

When the man and the woman, dressed as Shiva and Parvati, came to the streets on Saturday night to protest the rising cost of fuel, food, and other goods, the issue was set off. The two rode bikes to College Chowk in Nagaon, where they staged a play about their car running out of fuel.

The actor portraying Lord Shiva made fun of Prime Minister Narendra Modi by asserting that the government served the interests of capitalists and was unconcerned with the problems of the regular people. He then advised the viewers to oppose the growing inflation by going outside.

After that, the actors went to the Bada Bazar area and performed a similar street play. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Bajrang Dal also took notice of the stunt. They slammed the act and charged the accused with hurting Hindu sentiments.

A complaint was then registered at the Nagaon Sadar police station against the actor duo—Birinchi Bora and Karishma. Following this, Bora was arrested.
