A major fire broke out at a godown in Assam's Kamrup-Metro district's Jorabat area...

Digital Desk: A major fire broke out at a godown in Assam's Kamrup-Metro district's Jorabat area in the early hours of Wednesday morning, destroying properties worth several lakh rupees.

The fire started at a plastic carton godown in the 14th Mile neighbourhood near Jorabat, according to authorities.

Following this occurrence, local police and the fire department went to the scene and managed to extinguish the flames, however, the raging fire destroyed properties worth several lakh rupees. 

Additionally, there have been no reports of casualties in the incident.
