Guwahati: While addressing the people at the Trade Festival in Kalakshetra yesterday, state transport minister Chandra Mohan Patowary announced that 20 new ships will be brought in Assam very soon.

As of now, three ships have been already been sent to Majuli, said Chandra Mohan Patowary.

Patowary also stated that sailors can start sailing the ships once the training centre is set up for the project.

The trade festival has been organized in Kalalsketra marking the 75th Anniversary of India’s Independence.

Various entrepreneurs across Northeast have participated in the trade festival. Through this trade festival, tea and indigenous food of Assam is aimed at taking it to the world market.
