The santoor has once again fallen silent after the Santoor maestro Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma died on the 10th of May 2022. Due to cardiac arrest, he died at the age 84.

Pandit Shiv Sharma Sharma was a tabla player before he became a santoor maestro. Many people don't knew that the tabla used in the song "Mose Chhal Kiye Jaye Saiyan Beimaan", from the movie 'Guide" (1965) was played and played by Panjit Shiv Kumar Sharma.
