Islamabad: In a bid to boost the country’s cash-strapped economy, the Pakistan Government has put up the official residence of Prime Minister Imran Khan for rent.
The Pakistani Federal cabinet took the final decision on the same on Tuesday.

The residence will hold cultural, fashion, educational, and other events. Measures and policies are being drafted to ensure discipline and decorum of the Prime Minister’s official residence. Two committees have been formed in this regard, reported Samaa TV.

In August of 2019, Imran Khan's Pakistan-Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government had announced its plans to convert the Prime Minister's official residence into a state-of-the-art federal educational institution.

The PM's official residence has been put up for rent earlier. In 2019, the official quarters were under rent for the wedding function of Brigadier Iftikhar Cheema's daughter. PM Imran Khan attended the wedding function with other dignitaries.
