Digital Desk: Three militants were killed in an ongoing anti-militancy operation in north Kashmir's Baramulla area on September 16.

They were killed in Uri's Hathlanga area, where militants were hiding. The Army said an infiltration attempt was foiled on Saturday along the LoC in the Uri Sector of Baramulla.

"Terrorists tried to infiltrate who were engaged by alert troops. Two terrorists have been eliminated and the bodies recovered. The third terrorist has been killed, but retrieval of body is being interfered by firing by Pakistan post in the vicinity, on LoC," the Army said.

The operation is still going on, it added.

This is the third such encounter this week in Jammu and Kashmir. Earlier, two clashes broke out in Rajouri and Anantnag.

As per officials, the combing operation in Anantnag's Gadool area continued on September 16 for the fourth day.

The security forces suspect two to three militants were hiding in Anantnag's Gadool hill, where the anti-militancy operation is still ongoing.

During the encounters in Rajouri and Anantnag, four soldiers and two militants were killed.
