Jacqueline Fernandez gains court consent to attend the IIFAs in Abu Dhabi

The ED is looking into Jacqueline Fernandez in a case involving alleged conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and a $200 million extortion scheme.

Digital Desk: Delhi court gave Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez permission to travel overseas, although she is being investigated by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in a money laundering case.

On Saturday, while entitling her plea, the Additional Sessions Judge Praveen Singh stated, "Considering the facts and circumstances, the application at hand is allowed. The applicant is granted permission to travel to Abu Dhabi, UAE from 31.05.2022 till 06.06.2022 and for this given period, the LOC against the applicant issued in this case shall stand suspended."

In addition to it, the court, while imposing the conditions, stated, "The applicant shall submit an FDR to the tune of Rs.50 lacs along with an undertaking that in case of her non-return, the FDR shall stand suspended and shall also provide a surety of Rs.50 lacs, The applicant shall submit her itinerary, place of stay and the number at which she can be contacted. On her return, the applicant shall inform the investigating agency about her return."

Advocate Ajit K Singh, who appeared on behalf of Jacqueline Fernandez, stated, "The applicant is a Bollywood film actress with a reputable reputation. The charge sheet has been filed by the Enforcement Directorate, however the applicant has not been listed as an accused in this case. The Enforcement Directorate, on the other hand, has issued a Look Out Circular (LOC) against the applicant without giving any justification."

It was also claimed that the petitioner, who is a well-known film actress, had been invited to events, press conferences, rehearsals, and event participation.

In response to reports, ED counsel Advocate Atul Tripathi claimed that all of the statements of claim, contentions, and representations in the application are frivolous and without merit. All of them are thus denied except those that have been expressly granted herein.
