According to the Assistance Association for Political Prisoners, security forces have killed at least 1,600 people and imprisoned more than 12,000 since the coup in February.
Digital Desk: At least 13 people including seven children were killed, while 17 others were injured after army helicopters fired at a school in Myanmar, media reports claimed.
The military was reported by TRT World, which claimed the building was being used by insurgents.
TRT World reported that the incident happened on Friday in the village of Let Yet Kone in the central Sagaing area.
As per the reports, the village's school, which is housed in a Buddhist monastery, came under fire from army helicopters.
TRT World claims that some children died immediately after the gunfire, while others perished after forces invaded the area.
According to TRT World, which cited two locals, the bodies were then taken by the military to a township 11 kilometres distant and buried there.
