Rickman's stunning Broadway performance that altered his career today, April
30. The doodle was inspired by Rickman's performance in Les Liaisons
Dangereuses in 1987. The late actor portrayed the antihero Le Vicomte de
Valmont.
Rickman may be seen
costumed as the character and sporting his signature arched-eyebrow look in the
doodle. The seasoned actor became well-known for his portrayal of Severus Snape
in the Harry Potter films.

In various plays, his deep, seductive voice and boundless charm won him several
honours. According to the Google Doodle blog, "at the age of 26, Rickman
decided to pursue acting seriously and earned a spot at RADA, one of the most
prestigious acting schools in the world."

Shakespeare Company a few years later, where he appeared in The Tempest and
Love's Labour's Lost." He achieved fame in 1985 as the anti-hero Le
Vicomte de Valmont in the drama Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Dangerous Liaisons).
"He began receiving offers to act in films after receiving a Tony nomination
for his performance," the blog continued.
