In response to the distressing revelations, the police have formed a 5-member special investigation team to probe the rampant drug use within the university premises, and concerns about the safety and well-being of the students are mounting.

The seriousness of the situation was highlighted in a special report by the Punjab Police, where investigators have stated that Islamia University Bahawalpur has tragically become a hub for drug abuse and sexual misconduct. In a swift and decisive move, RPO Bahawalpur Rai Babar Sayeed appointed a 5-member special investigation team to thoroughly examine the reports of widespread drug usage on campus. The team, consisting of experts from SP Investigation, DSP Crime, DSP Legal Team, and the SHO, along with the Investigating Officer from the relevant police station, has been tasked with unraveling the full extent of the alleged misconduct. The SP Investigation has been directed to expedite the submission of its investigation report.

During the investigation into the drug scandal at Islamia University Bahawalpur, a shocking twist emerged when it was discovered that Ejaz Shah, the chief security officer of the university, possessed over 5000 obscene videos on his mobile phone. This startling revelation sheds light on a disturbing culture of misconduct that appears to have permeated the institution. DPO Abbas Shah further revealed that records of drug use by 113 students have come to light, adding to the gravity of the situation. As part of their crackdown on the possession of obscene material, the police have also arrested a staff member.

The police investigation further uncovered 400 pornographic videos and pictures during a raid conducted on the campus. To solidify their case, a forensic test was conducted, and the findings were shared with the interim chief minister of Punjab. In connection with the scandal, the university's chief security officer, Syed Ejaz, was apprehended after drugs were allegedly found in his possession. Subsequent searches of his mobile phone revealed obscene material featuring female officers and female students of the university.
