Digital Desk: Former Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan got significant relief on Tuesday after an anti-terrorism court granted him bail till June 8 on eight cases related to the March violence at the Judicial Complex.

The cases were filed against 70-year-old Khan, in several police stations in Islamabad after clashes popped up between police and his supporters when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party chief appeared before a court in the Judicial Complex on March 18.

The clashes erupted after Khan attended a long-awaited hearing in the Toshakhana corruption case.

Over 25 security personnel were injured during the confrontation.

On Tuesday, Khan travelled from Lahore to the capital, Islamabad, to appear before the anti-terrorism court at the Judicial Complex.

After hearing arguments from lawyers, the judge granted him bail in eight cases till June 8, his party said in a message.

Established in 1974, the Toshakhana is a department under the administrative jurisdiction of the Cabinet Division that stores precious gifts given to rulers, lawmakers, bureaucrats, and officials by heads of other countries and states, as well as foreign dignitaries.

Khan, the cricketer-turned-politician, was disqualified by the Election Commission of Pakistan in October of last year for failing to provide sales details.

Meanwhile, an accountability court in Islamabad granted temporary bail to PTI chief Imran Khan's wife, Bushra Bibi, in the Al-Qadir Trust case, preventing the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from arresting her.

Khawaja Haris, the former first lady's lawyer, appeared before the court and filed a petition for Bushra Bibi's interim bail.

During the hearing, Haris informed the court that Bushra Bibi had not received any notice from the anti-graft body. Subsequently, the court granted the bail application until May 31 and issued NAB with a notice for a response.

Judge Muhammad Basheer also ordered Imran's wife to deposit a surety bond of Rs. 0.5 million.

On May 15, a division bench of the Lahore High Court granted protective bail to the PTI chief's wife in the Al-Qadir Trust case till May 23. It was the former first lady's first court appearance to attend proceedings in a case filed against her.

The former prime minister is already out on bail in the trust case till May 31.

The Al-Qadir Trust case is the same one in which Khan was arrested on May 9, and hours before announcing his decision to visit NAB on Tuesday, he stated he might be jailed again and encouraged his supporters to remain calm.

I urge everyone to keep calm because if you become violent, they will have another opportunity to crack down. We must always demonstrate peacefully, he stated last night during a discussion on Twitter Spaces.
