Digital Desk: The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a magnitude 6.5 earthquake in the Kimbe region of Papua New Guinea on Wednesday.
According to the USGS, the earthquake occurred at a depth of 582.6 kilometres (362 miles).
Earlier on Monday a 5.6 earthquake struck southern Turkey, an official claimed, three weeks after a disastrous temblor destroyed the region, forcing some structures to collapse. There were no reports of casualties at the time.
According to the country's disaster management office, the earthquake on Monday was centred near the town of Yesilyurt in Malatya province.
Following the devastation caused by the earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, the calamity in Turkey has rendered 1.5 million people homeless.
