Digital Desk: Britain Prime Minister Rishi Sunak was fined for failing to wear a seat belt while filming a social media video during his visit to Lancashire. Lancashire Police stated they were investigating a video "circulating on social media" showing a person failing to wear a seat belt while a passenger in a moving car in Lancashire. The force stated without naming Sunak that it had "issued a 42-year-old male from London with a preapproval of a fixed penalty."

Meanwhile, Sunak's office said in a statement that "the prime minister fully accepts this was a mistake and has apologized." Of course, he will comply with the stipulated punishment.

After receiving backlash, Rishi Sunak apologized for removing his seatbelt to shoot the social media video in a moving car. A spokesman said Sunak made a "mistake of judgment" while shooting a message for Instagram from the backseat of an official government car during a tour to northwest England.

Spokesman Jamie Davies said that the prime minister "completely accepts this was a mistake and apologizes."

The prime minister "completely accepts this was a mistake and apologizes," according to spokesman Jamie Davies. "The prime minister feels that everyone should wear a seat belt.  Failing to wear a seat belt is penalized in the United Kingdom by a fine of up to 500 pounds ($620)," the spokesman said.

Sunak's office said in a statement, "The prime minister fully acknowledges this was a mistake and has apologized for the same. He will, of course, comply with the fixed punishment."
