Digital Desk: In an interview, US President Joe Biden confessed that he had to propose to his wife, Dr. Jill Biden, five times before she officially said yes. After being asked if it was true that he had proposed five times, the US President announced on The Drew Barrymore Show.
"Is it true you proposed five times, and what eventually won her over?" the actress questioned Biden. He answered by adding that he knew "this was the woman" the first time he went out with her.
"I knew she was the one the first time I went out with her. "I truly did," he said. "I do," he answered when asked if he believes in love at first sight. "I've only ever fallen in love twice in my life, and both times I knew right away," he added.
The President of the United States also disclosed that his sons, Beau and Hunter, pushed him to propose to Jill Biden. "Well, you know, I had to make certain that this marriage would work. Because they had lost their mother and sister, and I knew we had to work because I had lost so much," Jill Biden stated during the interview.
Neilia Biden, Joe Biden's first wife, and their one-year-old daughter Naomi were killed in a car accident in 1972. He later married Jill Biden in 1977 and has a daughter named Ashley Biden, who was born in 1981.
